Delays, delays and a Te’len

So, if you’re checking this on early sunday, you might’ve noticed there’s no comic up yet – it’ll be a few hours at least. While the ultimate reason still probably pours down to “because I’m lazy”, I have a more substantional reason this time, namely this:

In short, I spent yesterday finishing the Te’len model upgrade. Considering Te’lens’ prior model was possibly older than the one Tiny was using, the revision is quite immense – I think she looks a whole lot different, even when using roughly the same textures. Also, I went over to a better way of managing the skirt which is.. well.. great compared to the way I used to handle it by pretending to use the leg bones. Blizzard somehow does that in WoW, but it really just looks broken when I try. So instead.. the skirt has its own set of bones. Oh, and isn’t entirely fused anymore:

How about that, eh? Now let’s see if I can get #79 done..

I think the update you’ve done for Te’len is absolutely awesome. She looks so alive in the pictures and going around the problem with the skirt that way works very well.

*thinks of rerolling another NE just to meet Te’len again*

Awesome work, trough and trough, I really enjoy her face most of all (tough ofcause the skirt is an AWESOME peice of work). Its a face you can stare at for hours and still think it looks pretty after a 4 hour BRD runtrough… So to speak.

I’m going to just go right out and admit that watching the responses has been really interesting – especially since I had some basic themes I wanted to set with Te’lens’ new look and.. well.. it sounds like it succeeded!

I do want every character (or, atleast, every major enough character) to have a theme and impression to them, carrying from look to body language right down to the way they speak and react. Te’len has her own role and purpose, so it’s rather important that she’s able to play it right! And well.. next to the very laid-back and relaxed Hani and the snarky and aggressive Tiny.. I do want Te’len to be rather.. hm.. striking?

So, very much sounds like mission acomplished!
