The Colosal Fox

So, the whole Pirate Day thing kicked off when the clock passed midnight last night and like many others I thought I’d just quickly run down, get a free achievement and that’d be that. Such was also pretty much the case, but then I spotted a Draenei male with the pirate disguise transformation and suddenly the only thing on my mind was how much the resulting look made me think of Don Diego and Zorro. Following that, I felt compelled to take a stab at this particular render, just because.

Now, as much as I wish Blizzard had kept Colosos as a Paladin rather than changing him into a Shaman as they did (he looked better before!), I suddenly find myself idly wishing they could turn him into Zorro instead.. eh.

However, in conclusion: This is why we need Draenei rogues.

… Undeniably that picture is fantastic =p I think that’s the only way a draenei rogue ‘could’ work, really! Although I never thought of orcs or dwarves as careful sneaky types either. I believe the moustache ‘makes’ that picture, for some reason.

Very cool render. But I just don’t see how you can sneak across a wooden floor (or any hard surface) when you have hooves. And I don’t see draeni going for stealing and dishonest gain. A Musketeer type swashbuckler, yes. Sneaking or pilfering, no.

Dwarfs and orcs do not fit the archetype of a cat burglar or jewel thief. But I can see orcs going for ambushes and banditry, and dwarfs for picking locks and removing traps. These rogue archetypes are every bit as valid.

The rogue class is problematic in that regard; there’s a fair bit of archetypes, and only so many that Blizzard seem to officially support. I’d say that the thief or bastard assassin archetypes that Blizzard tend to favour are actually not all that fitting to several of the races with the class, and that – ironically enough – for night elves, the rogue class more represents their way of war and their very law enforcement (the Wardens) than the actual criminals.

I can actually see some Draenei picking it up from the Night elves in terms of honing guerilla warfare after so many years of being on the run. To be honest, I find Draenei rogues less of a stretch than the idea that night elves would accept mages back in.

My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the
expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a
number of websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to
another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.
net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts
into it? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

You really make it seem really easy along with your presentation but I find this topic to be
really one thing that I believe I would by no means understand.
It kind of feels too complex and extremely vast for me.
I’m taking a look ahead to your subsequent publish,
I’ll attempt to get the hang of it!
