I think I’m prone to tease Rei a little for her character’s angst, but as a story goes this was very touching. I also thought you did a stunning job with the posing: all the panels were very expressive and showed real depth of emotion in places. Thank you, it was a very good read.
You really captured the emotion of the original story spot on here *sniffle*
It’s visually stunning and hugely expressive as Ily says; I think it’s a huge step up from your other works too. They are brilliant in their own right but this just pushed the limits so much more. Definitely your masterpiece 😉
The graphics match the emotional load of the story, which is no small feat. Faces showing a lot of expression and lifelike poses on one hand, and the balanced non-imposing backgrounds on the other, make this a beautiful piece of work. Also, the thoughts of Nhani ring true, they feel very real. It makes her character more alive (irony not intended). Love it.
You captured the mothers emotion in a stunning way, I dont know how you manage to do what you do, ie the artistic side (i understand the tech). That being said simply stunning. You do amazing work.
This is an amazing piece of work, beautiful and emotional.
Where did the original story come from? Is it available somewhere to read? I’m now totally intruiged by the background of this piece, how did Reiki fall?
The story was, unfortunately, gobbled up by the WoW forum – it aged too much and subsequently dropped from the archives. I didn’t have the foresight to post it anywhere else, so the text file is currently buried in one of my folders, and on Nhani’s computer.
As for falling, it was a fairly lengthy story that ran over the course of a couple of years. Originally I fell into the trap of playing Reiki as a humanised Elf, and did a fair few things that – with hindsight – aren’t terribly befitting of Kaldorei. All the same I was able to chew away at this and turn it into a story of youthful rebellion, a fascination with forbidden magic and, ultimately, her experience with fel magic. She ended up in the service of a Warlock, acting as a twisted sort of double agent, but when someone close to her died she was thrown off balance and commited to the dark arts almost fully.
Thankfully, enough sense remained in her to stop before she got too far, and entered a self-imposed exile (later….’assisted’ by the Alliance) to deal with her increasing corruption, channeling most of her new-found aggression into mercenerial dealings with the Consortium (one of the only groups I envisioned taking her on). Her final corruption was inevitable though, and eventually Reiki was consumed by the Fel taint and went beserk driven only by a subsconious desire to find her ‘Mother’, Nhani.
Thank you for taking the time to reply, appreciate it 🙂
Even in brief it sounds an interesting story, what a shame I missed it on the forums. Blizzard need to learn to archive properly!
Not sure how long that’ll last, but there it is, heh. I don’t have access to the other stories I wrote unfortunately, and this seems to be the only surviving one. I’ve since tried to write stories filling in the timeline between the moment I stopped playing her and the moment she died, but they strike me more as exercises in power and explosions than anything too substantial. I might take up writing again in the future, but I lack motivation to do so, bah.

Wow. I actually had to stop a few tears near the end, the emotion was perfect.
Graphics were really amazing as well, and matched the story very well.
Everything you make is amazing, eh? I love how you edit everything, and the stories..! ❤
Beautiful.
Very touching story and excellent visuals.
Inspirational comes to mind.

That’s the point Sunrise began.

Damn… I had to fight back a tear there. You almost made a dwarf cry! That’s an accomplishment in it’s own. Truly a great story.
Wow, that was really awesome.
Your visuals are just amazing, and the end there was very touching.
Dunno if you still read these, Nhans, but either way – Touching and fantastically done, as ever.
Its Nhani, Noriam ;P
Im playing World of Warcraft since the release of BC….and I realized this morning that Night Elves had sharp teeth and fangs….
*sob* I can’t believe that they fought each other. A wonderful story. x3

oh this look new I thinking i may injoy this.
is reiki Nhani’s daughter?
I must admit, a beautiful story if a short one with lots of emotion. The ending did make me feel a little upset inside I’ll admit.
P.S. I’ve made the cover my new desktop background. ❤
